Mit ihrem Sieg am Eurovision Song Contest 2022 wurde ein deutliches politisches Zeichen gesetzt. Mit dem am Sonntag veröffentlichten Video doppelt die Gewinnerband Kalush Orchestra nach.
Es beinhaltet alles, was man von Propaganda in einem Krieg erwarten würde: Trümmer, Soldaten, verstörte Kinder und traurige Gesichter. Die Rede ist von den Bildern des am Sonntag veröffentlichten Video-Clips zu «Stefania». Sie stammen aus Bucha, Irpin, Borodyanka und Hostomel in der Nähe von Kyiw. Mitten drin ist die Band Kalush Orchestra. Sie macht damit deutlich, dass ihr Sieg unmissverständlich eine politische Botschaft hat. Mit der ursprünglichen Hommage an Mütter hat es kaum zu tun. Jedoch sind es Mütter, die die Kinder aus den Ruinen retten.
Das begründet die Band unter dem Video auch gleich selbst:
I once dedicated this song to my mother, and when the war broke out, the song took on a lot of new meanings. Although there is not a word about the war in the song, many people began to associate the song with mother Ukraine. Moreover, society began to call it the anthem of our war! But if Stefania is now the anthem of our war, I would like it to become the anthem of our victory.

Das Video ist nicht auf den Kanälen des Eurovision Song Contest gepostet. Vielmehr auf dem YouTube-Kanal von Kalush Orchestra mit über 135’000 Abonnenten. So gesehen ist der Titel des Videos mit «Official Video Eurovision 2022» nicht korrekt. Das Video schliesst mit der Botschaft «Stand with Ukraine!».
